Somebody's got a case of the MUHN--DAYZZZ...

Here goes the newest edition to my home decor... :)
It's the Potala Palace Cabinet from Pier 1. I was originally going to Pier 1 to get a table set for my kitchen.. BUT the set was a lot shorter than it looked online.. so I passed on it. I DID, however, come across something better.. this cabinet caught my eye on the way out. It's colors
were vibrant and I just couldn't pass it up! The inside is what sold me though. It's got lots of space to store my stuff.. and looks FabUlOuZ doing it. I'll take some pix once my order gets in.. **fingers crossed** Which will hopefully be by the 31st :) Guess we'll wait and see.

Below... Is my next big venture! Hopefully, I'll have this baby by the end of the month.
It's the Suzuki Gz250. Msrp is $3,249.00 .. but hopefully I'll get it for a bit less.. I'll keep updating . :) and fer sher be cruising around on my *new* motorcycle by the beginning of summer .. WOOOOOHOOO!!

Enough for now!

***Thursday***

I'm wondering if maybe I should break up all of my ideas today into small posts.. or just throw it all into ONE BIG blog entry..
oK.. I 'll do one entry... but split it up :)

~*~Dinner last night~*~
For the last few weeks I have been CRAVING chicken fried chicken!!
Whenever we'd have a government exam in my Texas Government class we'd all meet up downtown San Antonio @ Lu Lu's Jailhouse Cafe to study. It was a group favorite! They were open 24 hrs and had everything you could crave. (but not an everyday diet, fer sher lol) Fried okra, fried mushrooms, burgers, enchiladas, chicken fried chicken,,,, even 3 1/2 pound cinnamon rolls! [YuM] Anyways!.. I found a recipe that comes close.. and BOY did it hit the spot! :)
Sizzle...
::Pop::
mmmm
crunch crunch :)
Here's the recipe.. (from Allrecipes.com)
Ingredients-
  • 30 saltine crackers
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons dry potato flakes
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Directions-

  • Place crackers in a large resealable plastic bag; seal bag and crush crackers until they are coarse crumbs. Add flour, potato flakes, seasoned salt, and pepper to bag and mix well.
  • Beat egg in a shallow dish or bowl; heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  • One by one, dredge chicken pieces in egg beat, then place in bag with crumb mixture, seal bag and shake to coat.
  • Reduce heat to medium and cook coated chicken in skillet for 15 to 20 minutes, turning frequently, until golden brown and juices run clear.

*** My changes--

Well, I soaked my chicken in a brine first for a few hours while I was at work. (My grandma is VERY BIG on soaking chicken before cooking) I made my soak from a little water, olive oil, paprika, salt, crushed mixed pepper, fresh cut garlic, and a little garlic salt. MANNNNNN did this make my chicken *super* juicy :)

Second change I made.. was, of course, I only used about 3 chicken breasts instead of 6... and I cut each one in thin halves.. so they'd cook quicker and more evenly.

That was it.. made a little white pepper gravy.. and some corn.. and it sWaLlOwEd my craving whole :)

Here's the address of LuLu's if you ever wanna try the real thing ;0)

__Euthanasia__
When I was in debate back in high school, this was a huge topic.. I'm sure each case is different.. and there are pros and cons to every one... BUT this.. this is a very sad case.

This is Chantal Sebire

What a sad story.. I guess she finally got her peace.

BUT my question is WHY they made it so difficult for her. She wanted an assisted suicide.. and it's OBVIOUS why..

"Ms Sebire was diagnosed with esthesioneuroblastoma eight years ago, which left her nearly blind and with no sense of taste or smell. As the tumour burrowed through her sinuses and nasal cavities, her nose swelled to several times its size and one eye socket was pushed out of her head, AP reports. " (http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,23407034-5001028,00.html?from=public_rss)

Before her death this is what she had become.

You know we wouldn't let an animal live like this... why a suffering human being who is tired of fighting?

What kind of life was this for her?.. blind, without smell or taste? She was dead to the world around her already.

I think this case was an acceptable excuse for a granted assisted suicide. But I guess since the government didn't help.. she found her own means of helping herself. ::shakes head:: sad..

~*~My Up-coming Weekend ~*~

Onto a better note! Look at all the *awesome* movies coming out.. SOOO many scary ones too!! :)

I want to see-

  • Shutter
  • The Ruins
  • Meet the Browns
  • Prom Night

... and maybe a couple others.. guess we'll see!!

That's about it for now!

~Dreams~

Sorry, These are a bit blurry... They were taken on my cell phone

This is the damage I did the other day while having a dream(more like nightmare) lol.
I was dreaming that a giant bookcase was falling on me and mike.. and I "jumped out of the way"... OR in reality, dove the heck out of bed into the wall.. hmmm.. wonder what part of me hit the outlet?!! lol.. my whole body was sore.. so I couldn't tell ya. But hey! I survived I guess, RIGHT?? hehehe .. Thank God the window was further down too.. probably wouldn't have been fun dive rolling through a second floor window.. :0/ [YIKES]
Well, luckily outlet covers are a mere 45 cents.. :)

Too Emotional?

I don't get this? I've been told many times that I'm an emotional person,, but is that a bad thing?
Just because I feel for people in unfortunate situations, or care about people who seriously need help... ?? I thought that's what 'us' as humans do naturally?... Maybe I'm not the one who's "over-emotional".. maybe everyone around me has become numb to how sad this world has become... call me emo.. depressed.. whatever.. but I wouldn't trade my emotions for anything. It's the only thing that keeps me feeling alive.
I think about people and how they've lost and it breaks my heart..
Especially the way other people can go on with their daily lives.. take everything for granted and care less if anyone is losing something for their gain..
So far.. this war in Iraq has taken 3,983 lives (just U.S.) and left 29314 wounded... not counting other countries involved. For people going on with their daily lives in places outside of the military community.. these are just numbers.. but for some.. it's our family member, friend, neighbors..
and it's not just this war or the victims I have empathy for..
What about those who have missing family members... or a cold homicide case? They may never know where their relative is or what happened to their love one.. some at least have some closure.. but thousands of people will die before getting any kind of answers.
If you don't have some sort of heart that aches for these people then gosh.. I must be emotional.
And thank God for that.

(guess it's the gloomy weather out lol.. sorry.. )

blechhhh.. I feel like poop

Is this not a cute little kid!?! I love google image searches.. He expresses me perfect right now lol
I woke up this morning feeling o..k but as soon as I got to work I started feeling like complete garbage :0(
I think I may have to go home today.. or puke will decorate the Acura showroom floor lolBlErEEBboWwWWecHhHhHhH.. ::GAG GAG::The pumpkins are just doing it so well for me today lol..
ech,, def. time to go home..

My weekend..

Yay! a picture of me and dad!! We were sitting around for what seemed like forever Saturday... waiting on Ariana's cheer competition to end,, (congrats on the numerous 1st place winnings!! GO ROCKETS) Well.. I got to go to the antique and craft festival. It was enjoyable.. but there weren't a lot of vendors this year. I DID see a few things I liked, unfortunately.. NO bottle caps.. how lame is that!? lol I did, however, come across some pretty neat jewelery and buttons. And I found this really weird tie dye guy from New Orleans..
Here's a picture similar to what I got... Mine is green and orange.. and cuts off at the knee.. I tried it on last night and it's gonna be great for summer! :)

I also got one of these bracelets.. They are like the ones I got in Colombia.. and I couldn't resist! Mine is a blend of beautiful greens. :)Peruvian friendship bracelets.

~*~*~T.G.I.F. ~*~*~

So glad the weekend is finally here! It's been a crazy week.. and I'm ready to enjoy my weekend off. Just relax and enjoy my freedom from obnoxious people and constant ringing of phones.
There are SO many things going on this weekend... What shall a girl do?! lol
Well here are my choices: (Most likely doing more than one)
  • Craft and Antique show- *PERFECT* for my bottle cap hunt! :)
  • Church (def. going.. need any God I can get right now lol)
  • Ariana's cheer competition (in the same plaza as the craft and antique show.. so maybe i'll drop in!.. 10 bux though.. :0/ ... GOOO ROCKETS!!!)
  • Going on a Hizzzike. (I need some exercise... and it would be a good time!)

Hmm.. welp.. I'm sure there is more..so we'll wait and see!

Tibetan Personality Test

I found this pretty interesting.. HAVE FUN!

http://memoriter.net/flash/test.html
WHO THE HELL AM I? LOL
But seriously..
My name is Christina.
My favorite color is green.
I come from a large.. close knit family.
I love culture.. learning about other people's culture can be an experience beyond words..
I love music... anything and everything.. I'm open.
I love to cook new foods.. bake.. and EAT! :)
I am the oldest of 3 with one brother and one sister.. OH! what the heck.. two sisters.. (Nikki) :)
When I was little.. I dreamt of being a famous singer/model/dancer/actress lol.. funny how many things you think you can be, eh?
I love to try new things.. anything active.. or creative.. and I'm down.
I talk with God everyday.. I'm probably not the best example sometimes.. but He knows I try..
I truly believe He is the only reason I'm even here today.
I enjoy history. Getting a glimpse of the past is intriguing to me.
My dream car would be something older.. that ran on bio diesel... lol
One day when I'm older and have some money to play with.. I'd love to open a cafe/bakery... a nice eclectic place to gather and socialize with friends.
I like to paint.. scrapbook... take pictures.. decorate.
I want at least two kids.. hopefully a boy and a girl.. BUT I'll be happy with whatever I get since I've been told I might have some difficulties in that department.
uh.. yeah.. that's it for now.. got a headache..
But I'm sure I could think of a thousand things I like...
like... people with manners. :)
-Booger (the nickname my dad has for me ) <-- that's a new fact huh?! lol

Mmm... Fresh lime.. And look at the beautiful detail on the peacock...

Anyways.. check out the web site www.tracyporter.com She's got awesome clothes.. beautiful dishes.. and an amazing decorating style.. VERY much to my liking! :)
Alright.. I'm back to daydreaming and looking at my ~new~ Tracy Porter catalogue I got this morning :)
Ciao4now

Wow.. what a crazy day

My head has basically been throbbing....
So, work started off pretty good.. not super slow.. not a ton of work to do.. Then, BAM! bloody guy comes running through the door, "I've been shot! Call 911! I've been shot!"
DOUBLE YOU TEE EFF!!!
I kick into panic mode... 'what should I do'... 'this guy needs help'... 'should I get the hell outta here before someone comes in to shoot everyone else and finish him off?!!'

Man,, was I freakin out! He stumbled through the showroom bleeding all over until we got him to sit down .. I called Janette and told her to come help ASAP! (Then she ran like bionic woman ) The whole time he kept calling for us to call his mother... [we did of course]
Once the police got there I could finally breathe... (and run to the br to pee! lol) Janette did a great job with her medic skills lol woot woot.

I'm just glad things turned out well.. and he was only shot in the HAND! lol (not to mention with his OWN gun.. )
pOOOOOr Guy..

WELP.. time for some rest.. and hopefully more training for this at work?!! lol jk

~City Market Deli~

So, The Chocolate Lady closed down shop downtown and moved to another location, BUT that didn't stop the next group from moving in for their shot at a business on Hay st.
Next up.. City Market Deli. ..
I have to say.. Blue Moon is my *favorite* place to eat downtown.. but this is going to take a close second now. The sandwiches were good... very flavorful and fresh.. nice size too.. BUT the only thing that gave me reason to mark them down a bit was $$$ .
For a sandwich... (no chips or drink) 7.50!... for a lunchbox meal (drink, chips, sandwich) 10.50!!!
YIKES,, it was 19 something for two sandwiches and a small Yoohoo bottle.. WTF?
Guess this will just have to be a once and a while thing.. and I'll have to continue my love for Blue Moon.. Here are some photos I took :)
The view from the inside.. wow... what a nice day it was :)
I fell in love with the light fixtures.. great taste ..
They were little bug lites! Ohh... and LOOK AT THE TIN CEILING?!! Awesome :)
Bzzzzzzz...
These were neat too... really modern looking ..They'd look great in a hallway.(MY hallway lol)
Small menu up on the board.. but look how pretty the shelves are..
yum!,,, MAKE MY SANDWICH!!! lol
My Pastrami on rye... mmmm nice and spicy! :)
HMMM... the desserts looked ok.. the tiramisu looked the best.. but they all looked store bought and boxed... so.. probably not super great tasting..

Overall... it was pretty good,.... BUT I def.. was a little disappointed..
