Neat-O :0)

I saw this on Ljc blog and thought it'd be cool to see what I'd look like as a Simpson..

Very interesting lol

~*~My 4th Of *July*~*~

Well, well, where do I start?!!
In America we have many holidays!

"Independence Day, or the Fourth of July, is the most important national holiday in the United States. It commemorates the formal adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776."- Encarta
This isn't really my "most important" holiday... I'd rather have Christmas over it anyday.. BUT, I do enjoy it. Most people spend the day having bbq's... grilling up their favorite meats, drinking their choice alcohols...and eating anything to cool them down(i.e. watermelon, popsicles.. etc)
Not to mention that most of the day involves some sort of water activity.
A lot of people tend to go to the beach or spend this time with family, others use the 4th as an excuse to get completely drunk.(which is why I'm not big on the holiday... I see it as a big excuse to sit around and get wasted in the sun :-/ )
ANYWAYS! Here's my summary of my 4th...
  • First, Mike and I slept in until about 12 noon. I had planned to be up and ready for the day by about 9:30.... 10 am---didn't happen--- After about 11:45 I couldn't force myself to sleep any longer.. so I got up.
  • Next, we ran around to about 2 stores so I could find a nice shirt to wear--- couldn't find one--So I kept my same old green t-shirt on.. and we left to go home so I could throw on some shorts.
  • Left the house again (once I was changed)... We had to stop at the grocery store down the street to grab some chips and potato salad... then, we were off to our next soiree.
  • Mike's old co-worker/buddy, was having a get together at his house and invited us over.. Little did I know, it was a swimming ordeal.. so I was basically stuck in the heat.. in a t-shirt with shorts.. trying to hide my sweaty bum. Eventually, (once everyone--the other women-- were pretty much done swimming) Mike's friend's wife offered me a swim suit. So, needless to say, I ended up swimming with Mike and his guy buddies in an oversized bathing suit. .. Oh well, guess it beats a sweaty ass. :)
  • Around 7 we left and went back to the house a bit. .. Mike slept.. some MORE. I walked around the house like a five year old anxious to get to the parade field on post to watch the fireworks show (which is what I've always done)...
  • Mike finally got up around 8 something and we headed out to Bragg.. (after stopping by McDonald's that is) The traffic to get on the base was crazy! I guess that's what we get for waiting until about an hour before fireworks start. After we got on post it was smooth sailing. It took us no time to get to the field and park the car. We ended up back with Mike's friends to watch the fireworks from a house nearby the field. I spent my time watching one of the toddlers there. He was so intrigued by the "boom booms" (fireworks) and couldn't fathom how in the world I hid the fireworks in my camera lol.. How cute, eh!?! :)
  • After the our loooong day, I was more than ready to get through all of the traffic on base and get home!!!! I think that last night was one of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time..

Happy Happy 4th.

So excited for tomorrow!!

Tomorrow. . . is. . .the. . .
4th OF July!!!!!!!!
I am SOOO excited! You have NO Idea! I want to go out after I get off of work today and get something nice to wear.. maybe grab up some stuff for sandwhiches and a picnic.. and then just have a *great* day tomorrow...It's supposed to be really nice weather tomorrow .. hopefully hot and sunny!!! :)
Mike has to work for a bit, but it's right at the parade feild.. so he'll be right where all the action is anyways!.. Not to mention he's working the V.I.P. tent.. so I guess that will have it's benefits!
OK.. enough of my blabbing.. I'll take plenty of pictures!!!!!!

So we bought some tomato and basil tortillas...

Mike and I got creative with these fabulous flat breads...

Here are some that I cut up into triangles..
I made a butter, garlic and italian spice mixture.. drizzled it over them... and baked them until crisp...
They were DELICIOUS with a little bit of garlic marinara sauce.. mmmm :)

crispy.. light... and SOOO full of flavor.

And here is where my hubby got really into it.
He cut up the tortillas... drizzled them with a bit of olive oil.. and baked them til crisp..
Then, he topped them with seasoned chicken breast and lots of oooey gooey cheese...
WHY DOESN'T THIS SECRET CHEF COOK MORE OFTEN!?!! lol..
anyways.. dinner was terrific.. AND we found a wonderful addition to our weekly menu.. ;0)

Almost Friday!

Wow.. it has been QUITE A WHILE since I last posted..
been busy I guess.. (that tends to happen a lot)
You haven't missed anything that exciting though..
Well, last night I kinda knocked our TV off of our dresser and into our bedroom wall... NOT fun.
It was broken on impact. So, needless to say, we were at Wal-mart at about 10 pm last night buying a new TV and a DVD player (just incase the Xbox is broken)
Little did we even begin to think of how we were supposed to lugg this big square box home..
Def. NOT in the Focus.. that's for sure...:
The trunk- not a big enough opening.
The back seats.. wide enough, but the doors don't open far enough.
The front seat... Doors open enough, but the opening is not big enough... figures.
So, after pushing and prying for about 15 mins... I decided to call mom.. "Please! come help us!!!!!!" lol
She did, and we finally got the damn thing home!
Hmm.. not much other than that lately.
I'll write more when I have some pictures uploaded.

Updated Balcony....aka- my oasis

Just a few photos of the upgraded balcony.. Today I will be adding MORE to it!! :)
My mother bought me some delicious looking veggie plants.. so as soon as I get home, I'll be planting my new babies!
Sigh.. other than that..
I am feeling MUCH better than I was yesterday..
I seriously thought I had a miscarriage of a baby I didn't know I was pregnant with.. =-0
Turns out I am NOT pregnant.. and I just needed some good old antibiotics,.... and PAINKILLERRRRRS! :)
Very scary evening though..
Today we are having our "SUPER SALE!" ::cough::.. so all of the weird 'carni' folk are here @ the dealership.. ::gag::
I will sooo be taking the long way around everywhere this whole week lol...
as long as I can avoid that showroom... I will survive this! hehehe
alright.. I better get to work.. (or at least pretending ;0) ..)
Be back later

Good Morning... :)

It's Thursday morning.... I'm sitting at my desk... and I can't seem to keep myself from falling asleep..
My eyes are SO heavy right now and all I wanna do is go home and plop myself in bed. I have 5 more hours until I'm even close to getting that though.. so I guess I better wake up, huh?!!
Anyways. We went and paid Mike's lawyer costs the other day--he put it on one of his old credit cards-- so hopefully this guy can work some magic and help us out of this rut.
If he does end up guilty (ticket says for 'willful speed competition') then he could lose his license for a year... our insurance will sky-rocket.. etc. So that won't be fun.
***Pray that the whole things turns out well (the court date is August 8th.. So I'll keep you informed.)

Other than that, life has been pretty good lately. I got my hair cut yesterday by my best friend's sister-in-law. She did a really nice job and my hair is so much better:) I've been meaning to get it cut for a while now.. but money and time have been my big issues...
With my hair being so crazy curly, it can take FOR. EV. ER to get done.. not to mention that the place that knows how to do my hair, costs more money than I'd like to spend right now.
I do notice that God works small things out for me alllll the time, though :)

Our house hasn't really changed much recently.. the only new stuff is out on our balcony.. it's looking SO nice right now with all of the flowers I've got out. (I'll have to take some pictures and post them later.) I've turned our balcony into my own little oasis getaway lol.. I go out there at night and just relax with some candles lit... and nothing but the frogs for music :)

Speaking of frogs.. I felt like I was in an invasion last night..
When me and Mike went to the laundry room there were SO many of them EVERYWHERE!
Toads, babies, bullfrogs.. you name it! Some were already run over in the street.. but most were hopping around our sidewalks and doorways.. everywhere you looked there were about 4 or five of them... it was REALLY odd.. (but cool since I like the little creatures :)
The invasion I DID have a problem with were the fire ants this past week.. I swear.. you kill of one trail and they find another!.. They are such a nuisance!
But I eventually got rid of them .. so let's hope when I get home today there aren't a brand new bunch waiting for me!
hmm.. maybe my frog friends could help me out, eh?!!! lol
Alright.. time for some work!!
:) :) :)
